Introduction to Benefits Training
3, 10 and 17 February
Due to high demand for our Introduction to Benefits training we’re putting on
an additional online training course on Wednesday 3, 10 and 17 February from 10.00 – 4.00 each day.
This popular three day course is designed to give people all the necessary tools they need to be able to accurately advise on benefit entitlement. You will have the opportunity to work through case studies and scenarios in a supportive and friendly environment. It provides helpful hints and tactics on how best to support clients through the complexity of the welfare benefit system.
Over the three days the course will cover:
· an overview of the benefits system
· benefit administration and how to challenge decisions
· disability and carer benefits
· benefits for people in and out of work, including Employment and Support Allowance and Universal Credit
· benefits for older people
· conditionality rules and how to avoid sanctions
Target Group: Introductory
This course is suitable for anyone whose role involves contact with clients who are entitled to benefits or struggling with the benefit system.
By the end of the course you will:
Feel confident about how the benefit system works, which benefits are applicable to your clients and how to support your clients with the claiming and assessment processes. You will also feel confident about calculating means-tested benefits and how to maximise benefit income.
