Consultation - Your views could help to shape Selby and Sherburn

We are working together with North Yorkshire County Council, with funding from the York & North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership, on a Places and Movement Study.

We want you to have your say on proposals.

The study will propose improvements to key streets and spaces in Selby District’s town centres which will benefit residents, businesses, and visitors alike. The study will help us to fully understand current and future issues and propose solutions that result in these centres being accessible to all and places that people want to live and work in and enjoy. Funding will need to be secured for these improvements, and the study is the first stage in doing this, to identify what changes people would like to see happen.

Proposals for Tadcaster will be brought forward towards the end of 2021, once there is an agreed way forward on the town centre changes proposed in the Selby District Local Plan and following further technical assessment of those proposals.

Consultation Survey

Between Tuesday 6 April and Friday 30 April, we are asking for your feedback on the proposals for Selby Town Centre, and proposals in Sherburn-in-Elmet.

Your feedback will shape designs for the proposals in both areas and a preferred option for the three different movement options in Selby town centre will be selected.

On this webpage you will find information including plans and visualisations to help you understand what is proposed.

Tell us what you think by completing the survey questions which you can access by clicking the button below.

Take part in the survey.

Next steps

Following the close of the public consultation on Friday 30 April, all feedback on proposals will be considered. There will be more opportunities to provide feedback on detailed designs and plans once funding has been secured for the next stage of the project.
