Riccall Village Design Statement - views needed!
Posted Wed, Aug 31st 2011, 11:22Riccall Councillors and residents have been working with Selby District Council to prepare a new and updated Village Design Statement (VDS) for the community. A Village Design Statement is a planning document, intended to give advice and guidance to anyone who is considering any form of development in the village no matter how large or small. It sets out elements that make up local character in order to improve the quality of design in any new development. It covers relatively straightforward work such as replacing doors and windows as well as more significant work such as building extensions and new buildings.
Local people have been surveying the village and have put together documents, making it clear to developers what the local character is.
The Riccall Village Design Statement is available for public consultation until 12th September 2011. After this date, it will be adopted in to the new Local Development Framework.
