The Parish Council is replacing 56 streetlight columns within the next year. 30 will be replaced during August this year, with a further 26 being replaced in April/May 2014. Work begins on the first stage of he programme W/C 12th August and should last approximately three weeks. We apologise for any inconvenience during this period but the streetlights are reaching the end of their natural life and need to be replaced with new columns. Those of you that will be particularly affected by the works will be written to seperately but we would ask all residents to be patient with our contractor (AK Lighting) during these necessary works for Riccall.
Any queries should be directed to the Council office.
In an attempt to engage young people in local politics, Riccall Parish Council invites applications from residents aged between 16 and 18 to serve a one year term of office as a youth advisor to the Council. The term of office will begin each September. The young people involved will be summoned to and attend Council meetings in the same way as Council members. Legally we are unable to give the youth advisors a vote but they will be able to contribute and influence discussion and will be there at the point of decision making. We will take two advisors each year.

Big Lottery - Big Opportunity!
We have funding from the Big Lottery to train 10 young people (aged 14 - 25) and 6 adults as Skateboard and Freestyle Scooter Coaches. You will train, fully funded, up to Level 1 and Level 2, depending upon your age with SK8 Safe, who are willing to undertake the training in Riccall, so you won't even need to travel anywhere to do it.
Young People - this is an amazing and fully funded (possibly never to be repeated) opportunity as we have funding right now. Get in touch....
Adults - you don't need to be able to skate or ride a scooter (honestly - we won't make you!). We just need some adults that are willing to be part of the skate culture within Riccall and willing to work with young people. It's a fabulous opportunity for you to take a step in a different direction. Do something different! Get involved! Call us...
