Barlby Roundabout Newsletter 11. Weeks 21 & 22 commencing Sunday 5th February 2017

This is the 11th edition of the newsletter that will keep you up to date with the progress of the roundabout construction on the existing A19/A163 Market Weighton Road junction and also changes to the existing York Road junction.
During the past 2 weeks we have completed the drainage, ducting, topsoiling and kerbs to the roundabout. We have also been progressing works to the traffic islands.
During the next 2 weeks we will be turning our attention to completing the works to the west side of the A19.
We will not require the use of temporary traffic light this coming week (week commencing 6th February) however this will change the following week when 4 way temporary traffic lights will be used during the day during off peak hours(week commencing 13th February). This is expected to cause some disruption to traffic flow.

WARNING - change of traffic management to normal roundabout running

This Sunday 5th February, the existing traffic management will be changed to normal roundabout running. This is required in order for our workforce to operate safely on the west side of the A19.
As with a normal roundabout, this will require you to 'GIVE WAY' at each approach to the roundabout.
Signs, cones and road markings will be changed to reflect this change.
In order to safely move the cones and signs and adjust the road markings, on Sunday 5th February, 3 way temporary traffic lights will be in operation for a short period.
Please be mindful about the new temporary road layout. The signs and cones will direct you into the correct running lane. Please slow down as you approach the roundabout.
We would also like to advise vehicles to slow down when approaching the ramps onto and off the new areas of surfacing as directed by the signs.
Please also be mindful of the temporary enforceable reduction in the speed limit of 60 mph to 40 mph to protect our workforce.
