Riccall Parish Council works hard to ensure that Riccall is the best that it can possibly be.

Many partnerships have been formed with North Yorkshire Police, North Yorkshire County Council, Selby District Council alongside local community groups and organisations to ensure that we are constantly moving forwards as a community. Facilities are reviewed and where necessary new areas are created as projects. Current projects are on-going to consider car parking for the park and reviewing the play equipment for replacement.

Riccall Parish Council is a very active Council, with many projects underway and planned for the future. Traffic and Highways concerns, Environmental issues, Emergency Planning and sports provision are currently being studied in detail. The Council looks regularly at planning applications in the village and reviews available housing, commercial and economic development and many other issues. The Council owns and maintains most of the streetlights in Riccall and cuts the grass on most of the verges and public recreational areas including the Jubilee Sportsfield, as well as providing, maintaining and inspecting the play equipment on Riccall Park. An adult gym area has been installed in the park in recent years.

Maintenance of the central village footpaths has recently become the responsibility of the Council and our contractor now cuts and strims back these paths to allow ease of access for residents. All of the Councillors are volunteers and as such are unpaid. There are currently four members of staff; Clerk and Finance Officer - Sandra Botham, Administration Assistant - Glenda Foster, Litter Collector - Steve Golton and Lengthsman - Gavin Wright.

Youth projects are something which the Council values highly. Various projects have taken place at Riccall Skate Park including a skate jam, skate training sessions for younger / beginner skaters and an art project, which allowed young people to work with a grafitti artist to create some fantastic work around the panels of the skate park .
